January 3rd, 2023NABA is excited to announce TWO separate awards of funding that NABA and the 161 Task Force have received for 2023!
- Special Matching Award from City Council: Council Member Remy created a public-private partnership for beautification on 161 by awarding a $25,000 gift from city council, and in addition, $25,000 in matching funds for any additional funding NABA can raise for 161 beautification. If we are able to raise funds from our businesses along 161 to improve mowing and landscaping, we can tap into the matching funds, for a total of $75,000 potential funding, if we can raise the full match.
- The 614Beautiful Program chose the application by the 161 Task Force to pilot a 3D-printed bus shelter featuring public art for one bus stop on 161. This is a partnership between the Task Force, COTA, the City of Columbus, and IC3D Printing of Columbus, Ohio. This is a $10,000 grant.
We are excited for all of these opportunities to improve the look and feel of 161 and pilot a new type of bus shelter in the city of Columbus that can provide a safe place for people to wait for the bus on 161.
